GARMENTS AND MATERIALS
Most soft, flexible fabrics work beautifully — cotton, jersey, knitwear, fleece, pyjamas, shirts, dresses, babywear, and hand‑knitted or crocheted items. Smaller meaningful pieces such as hats, ties, scarves, and baby mittens can also be included.
Logos, printed designs, and embroidery can be used, and I place them where they make the most sense visually and emotionally.
Delicate knits, wool, and cashmere can be used with extra care. Very thick, stiff, heavily embellished, or structured fabrics may not be suitable, but I will always guide you gently if something won’t work.
Yes — partially cut garments can still be used. I work with what you have and make the most of the remaining fabric in a way that feels natural and respectful.
Yes — many keepsakes are made from garments that are delicate, well loved, or have been stored for years. I stabilise fragile areas where possible and preserve meaningful details.
Yes — I can work with many types of embellishments and fastenings, including embroidery, light beading, zips, buttons, and poppers. Very heavy beading or rigid hardware may not be suitable.
Yes — fluffy dressing gowns shed everywhere and release a huge amount of airborne fibres. They cause a lot of inhalation of loose fluff while I’m cutting and working with them, but they also make the softest, snuggliest bears. I’m very used to working with them and take extra care when handling these fabrics.
Because of the extra cleaning required for both my studio and myself afterwards, a small additional charge is added when using dressing‑gown fabrics.
Yes — these can be used beautifully, especially for baby or memorial keepsakes.
Yes — logos, badges, and patches often become meaningful focal points. School memories are a particular favourite, and the end of the school year is always especially busy as many families choose to mark this milestone with a keepsake. If you’re hoping to have something made for this time of year, it’s best to book early as demand increases significantly.
Yes — I can create keepsakes from pet blankets, jumpers, or soft toys.
If the item has pet hair, please remove as much as possible before sending it. Excess hair can affect my machinery, and although my machines are cleaned thoroughly after every order, starting with a cleaner item helps protect them and ensures your keepsake is made safely and smoothly.
Yes — I have made several bears to match a baby’s birth weight, and it’s always surprising just how heavy they can be. This can be added to your bear at an additional cost. Please keep in mind that a weighted bear will be much heavier than a standard keepsake, so postage will increase accordingly.
DESIGN AND PERSONALISATION
If you have a photograph of the person wearing the garments, it can offer incredibly valuable insight. I do my best to reflect small touches that feel true to them.
Yes — I usually add a small feature to the neckline area, such as a collar, ribbon, bow, or trim. These touches are chosen carefully and naturally during the making process.
Yes — I often add these naturally when it feels right. If you want one included, please tell me during our initial contact.
Yes — these can be added as fabric panels or incorporated gently into the design.
Yes — if you have a sketch or drawing that is personal to you, I’m happy to look at it and work with you to create something practical and achievable.

No — facial expressions can’t be controlled. Every bear is made from the same pattern, but different fabrics behave differently, which naturally shapes the final look.

Yes — you’ll receive updates at key points, so you feel included and reassured.
No — once I begin making your bear, changes can’t be made.
By that point, we will have had several conversations, agreed on all the details, and everything will be locked in.
When you receive the notification that I’m starting your bear, the design is final.
This protects the flow of my work, ensures fairness to other customers, and maintains the integrity of my design.
Yes — but if your allocated space arrives and your garments haven’t been sent, I will move on to the next order.
Your place isn’t lost; your keepsake will be moved to the next available slot once your garments arrive.
If you’re not emotionally ready to send them, please wait — I’m not going anywhere.
Yes — specific garments must be clearly labelled. This helps ensure your keepsake is made exactly as intended.
HANDLING & LEFTOVER FABRIC
No — leftover fabric is not returned. I keep all offcuts safely for three months in case you need a repair, an adjustment, or would like to order an additional keepsake using the same garments.
Leftover fabric is stored for three months. After that time, I will contact you with two gentle options:

- Donation to my Scraps, Salvaged & Seconds box, where the pieces are used to create small clothing and accessories for the bears in the ReLoved Collection.
This ensures nothing is wasted and every piece is treated with respect.
AFTERCARE & FUTURE SUPPORT
Your bear is a keepsake, not a toy, so it’s best treated with gentle care.
It isn’t designed for play, washing machines, or tumble dryers.
If it gathers dust, a soft brush or a gentle wipe with a barely damp cloth is usually enough.
Please keep it away from pets, direct sunlight, and damp areas.
With a little care, your bear will stay looking beautiful for many years.
No — my bears are not suitable for children under 14 years of age.
They are keepsakes, for display, not play, and they are not designed to withstand chewing, pulling, or rough handling.
The fabrics you send, the sentimental details, and the construction methods used to preserve those details mean they are intended for gentle display only.
For safety reasons, they should be kept out of reach of young children and pets.
Yes — to a point. The fabrics you send play a big part in how the bear behaves. Stretchy materials like Lycra or knits can expand significantly, and over‑stuffing them may cause distortion. I’ll always guide you gently if something needs adjusting so your bear keeps its shape and looks its best.
Yes — I offer a gentle refresh service if your bear softens over time or needs a little care, for a small cost.
From time to time, when I am developing new designs or testing ideas to expand the bespoke options, I create sample pieces using my own fabrics.
These items are made purely for testing and photographing purposes, and because I work from a small studio, it isn’t practical to keep them all.
When this happens, the sample pieces may appear as available to buy at a completely reduced rate.
They are always one‑off items and a lovely opportunity to own something unique that has helped shape future bespoke designs.

ReLoved Bears are pre‑loved soft toys that I’ve carefully rescued, cleaned, and restored so they can be loved again. Each one arrives with its own little history and personality, and giving them a second life is a gentle, sustainable way to welcome a previously owned bear into a new home.
ReLoved Bears are toys. They haven’t been structurally altered, so they keep their original toy safety classification and are suitable for play.
Many people also choose to keep them as display pieces or sentimental keepsakes — that part is entirely up to you.
Yes. Every ReLoved Bear meets the required toy safety standards and is fully compliant. They’re ready for cuddles, adventures, and everyday play.
Yes — to a lovely, simple degree. You can add names, dates, or short text. Personalisation is added in a way that keeps the bear fully toy‑safe. The placement depends on the size and shape of the bear, and I’ll always choose the clearest and safest spot. Personalisation is optional and purchased separately.
Usually, ReLoved Bears are ready very quickly. Adding personalisation may add an extra day or two depending on the amount of text, and I’ll keep you updated.
No — outfits are not included. They’re offered separately so you can choose the style you prefer. This keeps each bear affordable and lets you dress them in your own way.
Outfits will appear slowly over time. I’m a one‑woman studio, and each piece is handmade with care, so availability depends on my workload. New outfits will be shared on my social media pages and website as they become available.
Outfits are made from a mixture of scrap fabrics — leftover pieces from bespoke keepsake orders, offcuts from my own sewing projects, seconds, and carefully salvaged materials. This keeps the collection sustainable and gives every little piece of fabric a new story.
You can choose from the outfits available, but they can’t be altered or recreated. Each one is designed individually and offered exactly as shown.
Every bear goes through a thorough cleaning and restoration process using professional‑strength probiotic cleaners and advanced hygiene spray. Depending on what they need, they’re either fully washed or carefully surface cleaned and then steamed.
They will look almost as good as new — but some older, more threadbare bears will still show their age. That’s part of their charm and their story.
They can be gently surface cleaned with a soft cloth. They shouldn’t be machine washed or tumble dried. Treat them with care to keep them looking their best.
I do everything I can to make them as clean and allergen‑free as possible, but this cannot be guaranteed. They come from a variety of previous homes, and although they are cleaned thoroughly, I can’t promise they’re suitable for all sensitivities.
Small drops of ReLoved Bears are released during the first week of each month. Some months have more bears than others depending on my workload and what I’m able to rescue and restore. Teasers and previews will be shared on my social media, website, or mailing list.
No — ReLoved Bears are sold on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Each one is listed individually and cannot be held.
Your bear will be packed beautifully and safely using a mixture of reused boxes, recycled wrapping, and sustainable packaging wherever possible. I’m a one‑woman outfit, and I believe it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Your bear will arrive thoughtfully presented, with care taken at every step.
Yes — I can enclose a handwritten gift note on recyclable paper if requested. It’s a lovely way to send a bear directly to someone special.
No — ReLoved Bears are not returnable. Each one is pre‑loved, restored, and sold exactly as shown, and I’m transparent about their condition before purchase.
No — personalised bears cannot be returned unless there is a spelling error. If I make a mistake, I will of course put it right.

Because much of my work is bespoke and every ReLoved Bear is unique, I don’t offer a standard online checkout. Each order begins with a conversation so I can understand exactly what you need and guide you gently through the next steps.
You’re welcome to contact me by telephone, social media, WhatsApp, or email — whichever feels most comfortable for you. From there, I’ll walk you through the process at your own pace.
I’m currently in the process of designing both physical and digital gift vouchers, and I’m hoping they will be available very soon. They will be redeemable across all my services — from Bespoke Keepsakes to ReLoved Bears and outfits.
Because I don’t have a shop function, gift vouchers will still be purchased directly through me. They will be sent as a large‑letter size at most, making postage simple and affordable. When they’re ready, you’ll be able to contact me by telephone, social media, WhatsApp, or email to buy them.
Announcements will be shared on my website, social media pages, and through my newsletter as soon as they become available.
Currently I ship within the UK only. This keeps postage costs manageable and ensures your keepsakes and bears travel safely without long transit times.
All Bespoke Keepsake orders and all ReLoved Bear adoptions include return postage within the overall cost of your order. You will never be overcharged — you’ll only ever pay the true postage cost.
The only items that may have separate postage charges are gift vouchers and bear outfits when they become available. Bear outfits will not incur extra postage if purchased at the same time as a ReLoved Bear, as they can be included within the same parcel. Gift vouchers will be posted at standard large‑letter rates in line with Royal Mail or a comparable service. I always use dependable, tracked services so your bear or keepsake arrives safely and can be followed on its journey home.
Of course. You’re always welcome to get in touch if you’re unsure about anything or need a little guidance. I’m a one‑woman studio, so replies may take a little time during busy periods, but I will always get back to you as soon as I can.
I accept payment by cash (if local) or bank transfer. These are the safest and most straightforward options for a small, one‑woman studio like mine, and they allow me to keep costs down without adding extra fees to your order.
Bespoke Keepsakes and personalised items cannot be returned, as they are made uniquely for you.
ReLoved Bears are also non‑returnable, as each one is pre‑loved, restored, and sold exactly as shown.
If there is ever an issue with spelling on a personalised item, I will of course put it right.
